#35 Union Station

Did you know that nearly one million passengers passed through the station at the height of World War II? The North waiting room can hold 10,000 people and many returning soldiers met their loved ones under the 6 foot wide hanging clock. It was often said “meet me under the clock”. The station was closed in the 1980’s and sat empty escaping demolitian. In 1996, a bi-state tax was passed to fund the renovation and today it again is a viable place to meet for lunch, dinner, a movie, concert or special exhibit! Just like the early days, you can catch the Amtrak at the station. All aboard for a great experience. Check out the info on line at Unionstation.org or call 816-460-2020.
